The Glenmore Park Learning Alliance (GPLA) maths committee have worked together to develop a scope and sequences for Kindergarten to Year 6 students in the new mathematics syllabus.
The scope and sequence have been developed using the format Katherin Cartwright has created (the Mathematics Advisor for the Department of Education). This form of scope and sequence was developed based on the feedback received from the maths survey undertaken on Survey Monkey.
The feedback highlighted that schools did not want a prescriptive scope and sequence but rather an overview that could be adapted to individual schools and their contexts.
The scope and sequences include:
- yearly overviews
- mathematics outcomes
- Stage appropriate key ideas
- links to relevant Glenmore Park Learning Alliance maths units
- Term checklists.
The scope and sequences are now ready to be distributed to your staff to be implemented for 2016.
