Edmodo

As this website does not have the ability to create a forum in which teachers can communicate openly to one another, we are encouraging all members of the Learning Alliance to join Edmodo and our group called 'Glenmore Park LA'.

This will enable all staff members to do the following:

  • Communicate with other teachers. By joining the site, teachers can discuss any current issues and ask other staff about anything. If you are using another school's planning next year, you can quickly ask questions if something does not make sense and you can ask teachers for ideas regarding any aspect of your teaching.
  • File sharing. If you have a program that is working well in your class and wish to share it with other members of our Learning Alliance, you can quickly post the files into our group.
  • Develop an understanding of new ideas in education. After joining the Glenmore Park Learning Alliance, you can also join many other groups that have been created on Edmodo. It is a worldwide site and any new ideas, pedagogies and programs are shared on here long before you hear about them in your classroom. Why not join a few extra groups and see what is happening around the world. You will be surprised what you could use.

There are many other uses for Edmodo but we primarily would like all of our staff to join so that everyone can communicate with one another. This will enable us to work closely together in implementing the English syllabus.

To join Edmodo simply:

  1. Go to the Edmodo website
  2. Create your profile
  3. Go to 'join group'
  4. Enter the code: fjzdd7
  5. Join other groups that interest you (if you like)
  6. Say hello.

If you have any problems, ideas, feedback or questions, please forward them to bradley.lanham@det.nsw.au and I will do my answer and address any concerns/requests.

Cheers,
Bradley Lanham
